Legends Club ScrapsSeptember 2, 2010 4:08 PM Here's a quick addendum to the recent look at the Legends Club. I was a little unclear on what the food at the atrium chef stands really was. But I had a chance to get some detailed info the other night. The Carew atrium features the one-pass buffet for $19.95. It's not exactly your typical ballpark food, but I bet it's good (if you're into that kind of thing).
The sign reads: Welcome to the Legends Club at Target Field. Each day we feature the very best that local Minnesotan and national specialty markets have to offer. The culinary team prepares your fare with a passion, capturing an exciting variety of flavors and textures for your dining pleasure. Enjoy your dining experience at the Carew atrium.
The menu on this night was: Starters Salads Soups Gourmet Flatbread Pizzas Entrees
Over in the Puckett atrium, the fare is much more traditional, and a la carte, as somehow seems fitting.
As previously mentioned in the comments, another essential perk for the Legends Club seating is in-seat service. The wait staff looked pretty busy.
Finally, I found this classic photo which was obviously placed by someone with a sense of humor.

I've got stubhub open on another browser tab, and two hours before gametime there are tickets available for $1.60 each. Less than two bucks! I wonder if people are concerned about potential rain...

State Fair, vikings, kids back at school, rain, gophers, traffic............ for a lot of sports fans tonight is a great day to watch the games on tv.

Get ready for some whining from the can't-believe-it-doesn't-have-a-roof crowd. The sport which plays in any weather has a roof, while the one that doesn't gets rained on. (Weird sentence. But you get the idea.) As for $2 tix, remember that there's a service charge and print-your-tickets fee. That becomes a $10 transaction pretty quickly. And while that's obviously a very reasonable price to go to a game, the model is very deceptive. Frankly, I can't believe they get five bucks just for the right to print your own tickets, which you just bought, on your own printer using your own ink and paper. If anything, you should get a $2 credit if you agree to save them the hassle of mailing you your tickets...

Since it's election time...I vote for the Rep. who passes a bill prohibiting any ticketing agency charging $$$$ for printing your own tickets.

Twins attendance generally dips off in September regardless of how good or bad the team is. Attendance in April (with the exception of Opening Day and weekends) and early-May are the same way, except this year, the newness of the ballpark pretty much eliminated that. It also doesn't help when you see a large dose of teams such as Kansas City, Cleveland and Detroit early and late in the season. The HR porch was pretty much empty Thursday night as was the Grandstand. My group of four moved from our terrace seats in section 212 down to section 115 in the 7th inning and we sat there until the end of the game at midnight. One thing is for certain, that upper level concourse gets very windy and cold. This was mentioned after the St. Louis exhibition series as well back in April. I was disappointed they did not have more Chili or Wild Rice Soup on hand Thursday night. All of the stands were sold out (or had a 10-15 minute wait) of that and the people in charge need to realize that in Minnesota, one day Ice Cream will be a top seller and the next day, warm foods such as Chili and Wild Rice soup will be in high demand. Maybe they will be more prepared in the future with the extreme weather we can experience from day-to-day.

Mike- And Ice Cream was a popular thing in my section. There were at least two people per aisle coming back with it. I think only one hot chocolate sold when they walked by.

This is a weird game we all follow. After Wednesday night's gem with two starting pitchers putting zeroes on the board for almost the whole game, we get last night's ugly game. Bad pitching, bad defense, bad umpiring. Hopefully tonight is better again. :-)

The game gets into your psyche. All night long I was dreaming about the negative impact of using two of your starters as relievers in an extra-inning game (regardless of the outcome). Who's going to pitch to Texas? ran over and over in my mind. The only saving grace is that this is the stuff Gardy is very good at solving. If anybody can patch the next couple of weeks together, it's him -- assuming he doesn't get his ass kicked out of too many games in frustration. (Confidential to Bill Smith: I hear that Mark Prior is available and throwing 92 MPH for the Orange County Flyers. OK, maybe that's a bad idea.)

I've been to the Legends Club 4 times. The buffet in the Carew atrium is quite good and a good value if you're hungry; the menu changes but stays pretty close to what your pictures show. The guy at the Puckett atrium chef stand meant that he didn't have the food out yet. In a few minutes the sterno cans would be flaming under pans set on those round black things and in the pans would be the sausages, onions, sauerkraut etc. Back in April the Puckett atrium had different food each of the two times I was there. One time I remember it had 3 choices: shrimp, chicken or scallops; they looked delicious but I had the buffet. When I went in May and in July it was Kramarczuk's and I'm wondering if it has stayed Kramarczuk's or if it still changes.

OK, maybe "asymmetrical" is a nicer way to put it, but there's no doubt that there are seven full sections of seating on the third base side, and only four on the first base side (there are five and a half partial sections in between). Our tickets were out in the Grandstand, or should I say "on the surface of the sun".
Places: Third Base LoungeAugust 20, 2010 11:08 PM The verdict on the First Base Lounge was swift. You were underwhelmed, to put it mildly. My hunch is that you'll feel pretty much the same about its brother across the diamond. If anything, it's even less elaborate, partly because it's not a mirror image, and doesn't have the benefit of the long walkway entrance. Also, I guess there aren't as many third baseman to be memorialized (I counted only three; at the end of this post you can see a comprehensive list). I took this picture just moments before Morneau's homer landed almost exactly where I had been standing. If only I hadn't wanted to watch the game...   8:02 PM It's at peak, affecting mostly the upper deck.  Auxiliary scoreboard (note to TF principles: this is a very good idea)  Nicely-cushioned seats, lots of room, great sightlines   This looks like a Twins Pub, but is actually the scoreboard operations.   These are the outside tracks which go under the promenade  Looking across the plaza toward the main ticket area.  Plaza seating installation      One thing that the design disguises nicely is that the Pro Shop (and other key components) are actually built over lanes of freeway. That can clearly be seen here.
