St. Paul North Quadrant Ballpark Site

Downtown St. Paul

Aerial View

This could have been a great park. Fine location (but for some infrastructure issues), and a potentially classic design. From the drawings, I'd guess that this was favored by a few people. Be sure to notice that all of centerfield is accessible to pedestrians. Very classy. Too bad it'll never be.

This drawing does not strictly follow the site plans below. It is one block southeast.

The pedestrian view from just beyond the centerfield fence.

This is the preferred orientation, as depicted above. (North is toward the upper right corner.)

The alternate orientation is a distant second.

My composite panorama of the site (April 2002). The Crown-Sterling hotel is at far left. The park would replace all of the visible bulildings and parking lots to the right of the hotel.
